After telling her sister about her trip into the Black Forest, Clementine tries to subtly bring up the Foxes to her dad over dinner— and immediately wishes she hadn’t. The mention of the riffraff that lived in the forest surrounding her kingdom brings up awful, awful memories, of the death of the late king of Moonflower Valley.

After meeting Clementine, Flynne races through the forest to tell her best friends. As she nears their home, though, she stops to reminisce about how she met them. She’d never forget that day…

Nobody thinks a single action has the power to completely alter the course of their lives. Clementine certainly didn’t. But one day after school, she pops into the forest on her way home- and meets someone that will change her life forever.
